Default If you had to buy a Mini-Van

From: Automotivecraze.com

It is expected that the 2011 Toyota Sienna will be available in the showroom in February next year. This new edition will be available in five new offerings base, LE, SE, XLE, and Limited Trim. The base and the LE editions will be powered by 2.7 liter four cylinder engine that generates 187 horsepower. The other trims would sport a 3.5 liter V6 engine that would generate 266 horsepower. This 3.5 liter engine would be available as an option in the base and LE trim. The Sienna edition would feature a six speed automatic transmission. The AWD system will be available on the LE V6 edition, XLE and Limited trim. The SE edition is designed with 19 inch wheels, unique trim and a sport suspension. It is basically designed to cater to all those buyers who prefer a sporty minivan. Sienna has roomy interiors and can comfortably seat seven or eight passengers. The third row seats flips forward to make space for holding sport utilities. This new edition will be equipped with dual screen DVD system and a camera to offer all sides view to the driver. Overall the 2011 Toyota Sienna has very subtle styling that has been borrowed from the Venza crossover.

Commentary: If you had to buy one, would this be at the top of the list? Looks pretty good to me but up to $48,380 for the fully equipped one and it makes for a nice hole in the wallet for a vehicle you'll never look cool in. Guess that's the price of a family.

If you need to move people and stuff, mini van wins hands down.

The current Sienna is bland-errific. Hope the new one is better.

The only MiniVan ever worth getting

This Espace came on the scene in 1994, celebrating ten years of partnership between Renault and Matra with ten cylinders for birthday candles. To make the Espace F1, Matra used 1994 world champions Williams Renaultas power train unit. This engine was fitted centrally in the Espace without changing the model. To do so, they took an Espace off the assembly-line, cut out its floor pan to replace it with a carbon body structure harbouring the 820 hp V10, sequential box and automatic attitude control. With a special front end, ad hoc brakes and aerodynamic appendices to prevent it from flying away, it could get up to 300 kph!

When I was a kid, I was hauled around in a base model ford aerostar. My parent's bought it for 13 or 15g brand new. Why would you pay 50k for something that's going to see disasters of mcdonalds, dirt/mud, puke, dogs.. This world is too upscale for me.

My parents had an old GMC Safari and it did the job well hauling around 2 kids, 2 dogs, do adults and all the shit that comes with it. However I never plan to need a Van/SUV and will probably get a nice hatch. Mazdaspeed3, or the new subaru WRX

If you ever had to buy a minivan, you could "have" to divorce your wife.
Seriously, SUV over minivan.

Wait till grow up and have children. You'll soon find out that an SUV isn't large enough. I booked a mini-van to go home for Christmas and they called and offered the wifey an upgrade to an AWD SUV. She stupidly took it. We could barely fit all of our stuff in it and that's only with one baby.

It was a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was nice and all but not large enough and got shit mileage it was only the V6.

I saw in the Toronto Star that some Toronto area dealerships were offering new Dodge Caravans for $17k-$19k. I think that I'd be leasing one of those and dumping them shortly after the warranty expires before I'd pay almost $50k for a Sienna. Better idea is to rent one the one or two weeks a year you actually need one.

Do you have a problem with postings properly referenced articles from around the net to see what RL members think of them? Why are you complaining?

Minivan's are like sheds on wheels.

I rather rent one when I really need it than live with one year round and be miserable.

Great people mover but when do you really need to move 6 or 7 people.
