Default Modified Hyundai Velosters Hit the Streets of Korea

The Hyundai Veloster is expected to be a hit with enthusiasts and the tuning crowd, and if the hatchback’s home market of South Korea is any indication, it’s off to a great start.

While not yet on sale in North America, Velosters, and even modified Velosters, are becoming a more common sight on the roads of Korea. We stumbled across a stunning collection of the cars on Veloster.org, all slammed and kitted-out. The outfit responsible for the modifications is Sequence X, which has already developed numerous styling packages for the car, as well as rear spoiler and even a new exhaust system. Sure three pipes might be a big ricey, but if Ferrari can do it… why not? Each of the cars also looks to have an aftermarket lowering kit, plus some rather pricey wheels.

A strong aftermarket parts supply is often a bellwether for a strong enthusiast following, which itself is a sign of how successful a car will be. Judging from the enthusiasm already surrounding the Veloster, Hyundai looks to have a winner on its hands.

That's a good question, and I didnt notice the rear doors until now when a certain pic caught the rear seam in a certain light. Looks like it'd be suicide.

    Apparently not.

I actually saw a few of these recently in the Philippines. Definitely caught my eye and caused a double take. Nice looking hatch.

Hyundai is putting out the cars Honda fanboys have been begging for.

Honda has their head so far up their ass they can't even see Hyundai is eating their lunch.

Hyundai has come a long way in the last 10 years. Lots of the more popular brands started out with very basic cars and a poor reputation. Think about how Subaru was seen in North America only 10 years ago - it was a car for your mom... The reputation of Honda in the 1980's wasn't great either.

    Nice!

If they put the 2.0T of the Elantra in that... it'll be a bargain racer for sure!

The Elantra does not have a 2.0T....the Sonata does and so does the Genesis. The Veloster is coming to Canada I believe with the 1.6L, basically the same engine as the newer Accent's, which is disappointing. I did get to see that car up close when I worked at Pathway, it was introduced when we were doing training on the new Accent. It is a nice looking car, but until a turbo version comes out, it is underpowered.

Doesn't look rwd from the underbody shot... and it looks like beam rear suspension.
